Emily Lawrence has been playing piano, singing, and performing for as long as she can remember. Her fondest childhood memories took place behind the piano at recitals or participating in any church, school, or community play or musical she could find the time for. She has a bachelor’s in fine arts for musical theatre from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, as well as a bachelor’s in English. She has performed in countless musicals and plays over the years, accompanied church choirs, played keyboard in pit orchestras, and participated in the VocalPoint benefit choir in the twin cities.
When she’s not teaching or performing, Emily has worked as a nanny for multiple families with ages ranging from 5 months to 11 years, and is currently bringing her love of music and community to the residents of an assisted living home, where she works in the activities department. She also enjoys reading, spending time with her family and dog, hiking, writing, and doing yoga. She has been lucky enough to have had wonderful piano and voice instructors throughout the years and is excited to carry on their teachings to a new generation of musical students.
