We are in an unprecedented time in all of history. It’s been a year of a lot of change, unknowns and challenges for each and every person globally in varying capacities. Yet, I find myself saying, “I can either grow, evolve and stay hopeful, or I can allow myself to stay in frustration and anxiety because so many things are out of my control.”
We always have a choice, each and every moment whether to get better or grow bitter. I want to grow and get better and I’m here to encourage you to do the same.
About two years ago, I saw the need to shift to more online lessons in order to reach a wider audience and to free myself up to pursue some new creative endeavors with acting and singing. I was at a time in my career where I knew I couldn’t keep teaching 60 students a week and be a functioning, normal adult.
When you make the decision to grow and expand, there is always a level of risk you must take.
Most often, it’s in the form of a financial investment and the realization you can’t please everyone. In the middle of that difficult season, I saw the opportunity. How did I see the opportunity you may be wondering? I started to ask questions, search for answers and talk to others that were doing what I wanted to do. I was inquisitive because I had to change. I began to grow and blossom by taking voice lessons once again and business coaching to get to next level of my hopes and dreams. This is the place I feel like so many people are in today, especially artists and creators.
Start to embrace this mindset by saying, “Whether I’m ready or not, I’m going to get more inquisitive and explore new skill sets to develop.”
Yes, yes and YES! Why not pick up a new hobby or skill? Why not take a class or coaching in a certain area to add something new to your resume? Now is the time to say NO to the fears of the unknowns, and YES to trusting that you can do more and be more than you ever dreamed. Sometimes it takes a global pandemic to stir our hearts and minds to get us out of our comfort zones.
